Invest in Tourism in Oyo State

I am delighted to share with you partnership opportunities under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

With over 160 tourist sites, there is a huge market for tourism in Oyo State. In the last four years, under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, there has been an influx of local tourists as the number of people choosing to move to Oyo State from the neighbouring Lagos State has increased. Also, the linking of Oyo State and Lagos State via a 150-minute train ride has contributed immensely to the growth of the hospitality business in the State.

Statistics show that Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, receives at least 10,000 visitors daily. Some are just passing by, some stay for a while, and others fall in love with the city and put down roots.

Partnering with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism means embracing the rich culture and the nearly 200-year history of Ibadan and the over seven-century history of Oyo-Ile. It means being part of the development of communities in Oyo State that host these tourist sites, thereby lifting thousands out of poverty. As you may already know, Tourism is one of the sectors to drive the Economy pillar of the Oyo State Roadmap for Sustainable Development 2023-2027 (Omituntun 2.0).

I invite you to come, see, enjoy and invest  in tourism in Oyo State.

Ekaabo

Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Oyo State
